Vineyard
Situated in the village of Pernand-Vergelesses, the parcel of vines is south facing and sits next to Corton-Charlemagne. The soil is composed of white marl limestone and the vines are between 35-40 years old.
Vinification
After harvesting by hand, carried-out when the grapes have reached full maturity, the grapes are gently pressed in a pneumatic press. The must is settled overnight and put into barrels, 30% in new oak barrels. The fermentation starts naturally using indigenous yeast and bacteria. After being racked 9 months later, the wines undergo a fine filtration using a membrane filter of 5μ and are then bottled by gravity.
Tasting note
This wine is nicely balanced with a minerality typical of its village and is very rich and smooth. The lovely, long lasting aromas of white peach give this wine good length.
Aging
8 to 10 years (stored in the right temperature and humidity conditions).
